spellcasting with imagination, at work

"you got to have vision."

this post is about a method for taking aspects of making money and work you don’t like and using them for inspiration, the purpose being to work the imagination side of the pyramid. i’ve used this to varying levels of success in the past, but there are a few different ways to think about “results” in this context. what i mean by that is, we can consider that there are immediate results, which tends to be of the nonphysical type (for example, synchronicities or individual feelings that become easier to conjure) and results that show up in the physical, which usually take more time (ie, money). if you’re open to the possibility that results can come in more than one way, then imagination can be it’s own working.

i want to preface this post by pointing out that i am using this method at the same time i am writing about them; this work is constant.

i really, really do not want to talk about AI in this post on imagination. i could not be less interested. it aggravates me that i even think to address an AI in this post on using your imagination. yes, i’ve used the bot to find books, but boundaries. what happened to boundaries? using AI in place of imagination is incredibly dangerous and i would rather slather myself in sunscreen, go to the beach to count the grains of sand. there have always been forces working to disconnect you and i from our powers of imagination, will, faith, and secrecy (social media, on the last one, for example). they’re getting desperate. and that’s all i have to say about that.

on a brighter note, much of the work of imagination we already do. if you’ve ever watched a social media video of a scenario and pictured yourself going through the same thing, that’s using imagination. if you’re just ordered a meal you have a picture in your mind of what it will look like, that is imagination. picturing on a destination. it’s using your mind to envision.

the unfortunate thing is that for most of us living in a consumer hell-i mean landscape, our faith in our own imagination has been severely damaged. not lost, never lost. just damaged. so the method i’m describing here is likely something you do already or have done before. if the post doesn’t give you a new idea, maybe it provides some inspiration. or maybe it just helps you to know that it is okay to use your imagination in ways that help you, not just the company you work for or the people you take care of. maybe it’s validation for something you already know. that’s the real reason i write anyway.

behind the paywall i go over the witch’s pyramid real quick, and one of the methods i use to work the ‘imagination’ side of it.
